One misheard word can change what a transcript says. I'm Charles Kasungi, a transcriptionist, proofreader and writer who has spent over ten years catching those slips: misheard figures, mangled names, the wrong person on the wrong line.
Services
Audio and video transcription for interviews, meetings, conference calls, webinars, podcasts, lectures and focus groups, including heavily accented speakers and noisy or low-quality recordings.
Human review of AI, machine and first-draft transcripts, checked against the recording for misheard words, names, figures, speaker labels and timestamps.
Every utterance in full verbatim, or intelligent verbatim set to your style guide: fillers and false starts removed, the speaker's words kept. Speaker identification, timestamps and inaudible tags included.
Alongside transcription, I write for clients, from product research to private and confidential projects, always to the brief.
Quality
Each file goes through the same 11-stage check before delivery. Nothing is reworded: every correction brings the text back to what the speaker said. Here is some of what it covers.
Confidentiality
Files are deleted once the work is delivered. I'm happy to sign your NDA and to work inside your own platform rather than receive files by email.
FAQ
Full verbatim keeps every utterance, including fillers like "uh", stutters, false starts and repetitions. Intelligent verbatim, often called clean verbatim, leaves those out and tidies obvious slips, but never rewords what the speaker said. Every team defines it a little differently, so I work to your guide. The demo at the top of the page shows both.
Yes. I check it line by line against the recording and correct misheard words, names, numbers, speaker labels and timestamps.
Yes. Diverse accents have been part of my work for over ten years, including non-native English speakers, strong regional accents and fast talkers. When a name or term is hard to catch, I research it rather than guess.
Background noise, crosstalk and poor phone lines are part of the job. Anything I still can't make out after careful listening is tagged, for example [inaudible 00:14:51], so you can find it in the recording. I don't guess.
Common audio and video formats such as MP3, WAV, M4A and MP4. I deliver transcripts in Word or plain text, or directly in your own platform.
Yes. I've worked to many house styles over the years, including US and UK English conventions.
